MacID is a convenient and secure way to unlock your Mac with just your fingerprint, passcode, or Apple Watch. The app works seamlessly with multiple Macs, iOS devices, and Apple Watches all at once.
One of the standout features of MacID is its ability to unlock your Mac using Touch ID, Passcode, Apple Watch, or even Pebble. This flexibility allows you to choose the method that suits you best.
With MacID's interactive notifications, you don't even have to unlock your iOS device to control your Mac. You can easily lock your Mac, start the screensaver remotely, and control audio playback from iTunes and Spotify.
In addition to these features, MacID offers proximity wake and automatic unlocking when you return to your Mac. The app also provides 3D Touch shortcuts for quick access to settings and locking/unlocking your Mac.
MacID includes a Notification Center widget that displays all your connected Macs, allowing you to lock and unlock them from anywhere on your iOS device. The app also has clipboard sharing functionality for quickly transferring text between your Mac and iOS device.
It's worth noting that MacID prioritizes privacy and security. Your macOS password is never broadcasted or leaves your Mac, and the app doesn't connect to the internet without your consent.
To use MacID, make sure your devices support Bluetooth Low Energy (LE). You can check if your Mac supports Bluetooth LE by clicking on the Apple menu > About This Mac > System Report > Bluetooth.
MacID for iOS needs to be paired with the free companion app "MacID for macOS," which you can download from macid.co/get. It's important to verify that your devices support Bluetooth LE before purchasing the app.
